MAKING OF THE VIDEO; "MY HAPPY DAYS":

First let us explain the concept of the video.
In the lyrics for the song "My happy days" a lot of places are mentioned and a lot of actions are described. We will, with this video, try to illustrate all of the places and actions.
For instance, if the lyric goes; "Playing Donkey-Kong." One of us, the members of the band, will do that.
So when Tomas sings, as he does in the first verse;

"Playing Donkey-Kong.
Playing Ping-Pong.
Jimmy built two hoops
so we played basketball."

...all this will happen.

Day one, 170804:
We met up at Tomas apartment and all felt a great sense of freedom over the guerrilla method in which the video was going to be done.
Mr Brandt, the director, brought the camera, courtesy of Tomas Amlöv and friend, and Anders brought the light courtesy of builders. We went out searching for grate locations and when we found them we shot, taped, recorded.
We managed to cram in five scenes today, Daniel listened to music, Anders chewed gum, Martin played guitar, Tomas was the in-guy (when you'll see the video you'll understand) and someone wrote my happy days on a big piece of cardboard.
Now, five scenes may, on a regular video shoot, seem like a lot, but not in this one where we have a total of twenty five.
None the less, it was a productive day with lots of great shots.
Upwards and onwards!

Day two, 180804:
The body is a fragile thing which should be taken care of with respect, and we do, so there for we only shot one scene today. Our director, Mr. Brandt, woke up today not being able to get out of bed because of shoulder pains. Not good when you are supposed to operate a camera all day. So after one try out scene he dicided he had to go to the doctor and take the rest of the day of. So he, and we, did.
But still, we got a good half hour of great basketball play out of the early afternoon.

Pictures of the day:

Day three, 190804:
Back on track and oh what a day and zippedy do da zippedy day...
Today we were on fire and we managed to do a lot. Mr. Brandt was in prime mode; he planned, produced, pushed on and picturized.
We started of with Martin getting to be Jimmy, a character in the lyric, and with him banging a nail with a hammer simulating building a basketball hoop. Then Martin and Anders played a great card game called Triumph. After this Mr. Brandt and Tomas did some shopping for a scene that we shoot in a couple of days.
Dan the man did the roll of his life today. He climbed up in the tree house from hell and proceeded to act the part of it's builder. All while the wind swept the tree, and in doing so the tree house, from left to right then back.
Then, friends, Eric joined us for a bit of acting de lux. He ate a hot dog together with Anders, a big thanks to the girls down at the korvkiosk for letting us shoot there, then drank a red soft drink. In between those shots we managed to cram one in where all of us sit in a sofa watching TV.

On with the day.
The last thing we did was some artsy shots of a television with a strange pattern showing. You can see it a bit further down on this page.

We just might call the people supervising all the world records.
Most shots, scenes in a music video.
...and new world record holders; PUNK OF COUNTRY! (and the crowd goes bananer and wild)

Pictures of the day:

Anders at the hot dog place.

Strange patterns on the TV or they are here.

The tree house from hell and where is up?

So, now you know.

Day four, 200804:
A whole day at the arcade, well almost, we checked out a car engine and Tomas enjoyed the fun of bike riding as well.
Thanks to the nice staff at Sweden's best amusement park, Liseberg, we had their whole arcade to our selves. We shot a scene where Tomas played an arcade game, Pacmainia, and then we shot a performance scene for the end of the video.

After lunch we went on the hunt, we searched high and low for a BMX and found one at Cykelhuset. They, the staff, kindly lent us a bike and we rode around on their parking lot for some great shots.

Pictures of the day:

Stone hard arcade face.

The flipper, the flop, the circus.

A classic game with a classic face; Martin, master of Tetris.

A classic synth with a classic face; Martin, master of pink.

Again with the synth... and the pink.

Lights, camera, action. Cut!

Check it out and a bike and a Tomas... and Daniel.

Day five and six, 210804-220804:
A road trip! A two-day visit to the islands of Orust and Tjörn.
We packed three cars, full of instruments, clothes, punk of country and a director, real early. We stopped by our friend Fredrik to collect two fake machine guns he had constructed then we made a second stop at friend Pricky's to lend an old Donkey-Kong game for Nintendo 8-bit.
Then off, on!
When we reached Orust we immediately went out driving and looking to find the prefect location for our big outdoor performance. Imagine our surprise when we after a while of searching, during a bit of a brake, found it right around the house, literally, where we stayed.
No time to waste!
The clouds were looking fabulouse and the wheat was yellow.
We performed the hell out of that field for following hours.

A well-earned brake and a pizza later we found ourselves on the island of Tjörn shooting some interiors. A soda stream machine and Eric playing Donkey-Kong to be exact, all in the house of Daniels dad, Fish chef Karl-Johan.

Back to Orust.
Watching Seven and taking it easy.
Going to sleep.

Day six of the shoot, day two of the island road trip.
Everybody woke up fine.
We started the day on a bit of a low note.
King Waldner abdicated... or got de-throned. In the olympic table tennis tournament he got knocked out in the semi-final and we watched and we hoped but no, it wasn't to be. We thank Master J-O Waldner for all, may the force be with you.
After the game, back to work. A couple of shots more in the wheat field then off, back to Tjorn.
We packed all our gear and drove, destination: Eric's parents garage. Some of us suited up, rigged the lights, some shot a ping-pong scene in Waldner's honour, and then performed. Several hours of garage performance later we only had one more scene before a total wrap.
Martin and Daniel played with the Fredrik made machine guns and then we were done.
Rig down, pack in, drive home.

Pictures:

Anders going to bed.

A big smile and a drum kit.

It's all about the angles.
